Wie jedes Jahr feiert GUNSTradio natürlich auch 2024 GUNSTKunstgeburtstag. Zumal wir uns in diesem Jahr gerade mal nur um zwei Tage verspäten – eine Nichtigkeit! Die zugleich schon wieder ein ideales Thema für die Feier stellt – aber dazu dann gleich noch mehr. 1963 lud der französische FLUXUS-Künstler Robert Filliou alle Welt dazu ein, fürderhin am 17. Januar Geburstag zu feiern. Und zwar nicht seinen eigenen. Sondern den der Kunst. Damit war der Kunstgeburtstag geboren – die Kunst selbst weilte zu diesem Zeitpunkt, wie man sich denken kann, schon etwas länger auf unserem Planeten – nach Fillious Schätzung Berechnung genau eine Millionen Jahre. Aber egal, wer will schon so kleinlich sein. Jedenfalls werden seither an diesem Tag und rund um dieses würdige Datum herum weltweit Feste gefeiert, viele davon im (Kunst-)Radio. Wie inzwischen beinahe alljährlich reiht sich GUNST gern mit einem Ständchen in den Reigen ein…

Für diesmal haben wir uns von einer von uns hochgeschätzten (Nicht-)Kunst-Bewegung inspirieren lassen, die sich Neoismus nennt. Das klingt erstmal ganz traditionell nach dem Fetisch des Neuen und der ewigen Innovation, der – ja, eben: inzwischen doch einen ziemlich langen Bart hat. Also selbst eher etwas angejahrt ist als wirklich neu. Aber genau in diese Kerbe, unter anderen und unter anderem, schlägt der Neoismus fröhlich drein. Mutmasslich hätte er Robert Filliou sogar zugesagt. Nun ja, wer weiss das schon so genau. Für eine frohgemute Kunstgeburtstagsfeier taugt ein solch spezielles Nicht-Bekenntnis zur Nichtigkeit aber doch allemal!

Same procedure as every year: GUNSTradio is happily celebrating Art's Birthday. And we are only two dates late – a sheer nothingness! Not to mention the latter is the perfect inspiration for our present… But more on that in a minute, first things first. On January 17, 1963 the French FLUXUS-artist Robert Filliou invited the world to celebrate a birthday. Not his own one – this would have been a proper match as well. But Art's Birthday – the birthday of art as in fine art, art history etc. Of course we can only guess if he was right claiming that art had been born precisely one million years ago. However, who wants to debate about such an important date? Thus, every year around January 17 many people – and many art radio stations – celebrate Art's Birthday, and – as almost every year – we are happily joining the party with a special GUNSTradio show.

This year we have been inspired by a highly esteemed (anti-)art-(anti-)movement called Neoism. Granted: At first "Neo-" may sound and look rather traditional, well-fitting into art history's fetishism for "the new" and for "innovation" – yes, the one with the long white beard… Thus, not really new, right? But this is exactly the very same line Neoism happily takes by its name. We can only guess this may have pleased Robert Fillou – but who knows… However, for sure a decent present for Art's Birthday, we are pretty sure!
